KODAGU 95% SUCCESSMadikeri Feb. 12 The Karnataka Band call is responded with 95% success in Kodagu. Siddapur and Napoklu towns in Madikeri Thaluk, Hudikeri in Virajpet thaluk responded with partial Bandh. The capital city of Kodagu Madikeri observed complete bandh. The Chamber of commerce office bearers organized the Bandh peacefully.The Tahsasildar office, schools and colleges, BSNL office, Post office were closed. The District Administrative offices were closed during afternoon hours. Banavara, Shanivarsanthe, Gudugalale, Alur Siddapur in Somwarpet thaluk the protestors completely blocked the vehicular traffic. The Private bus owners have earlier decided to move the buses. However, they were forced to stop the conveyance as the passengers could be seen in rare number. K.SRTC stopped its service today. In Sunticoppa the people formed human chain and shouted slogans against the tribunal decision. In Somwarpet the villagers without proper knowledge brought their grown products for sale in the shandy market today. However they have to walk back with the perishable material without the vehicle facilty. The thaluk or District administration could have announced the postponement of the shandy for the public convenience-the people commented. In Virajpet town, the bandh was complete. Even the Govt. offices were closed. In Virajpet thaluk Gonikoppal, Shrimangala, Birunani, Kutta were deserted today. However, the shandy in Hudikeri town passed without any obstacle.
