Madikeri February 13, 2007

People of Kodagu have another feather added to their cap as Robin Unhappy is roped in to represent Indian cricket to be played in West Indies.

The name of Robin Uthappa is included in the fifteen-member India team, which will play in West Indies, next month. Robin Uthappa will be the first cricketer from Kodagu to represent a national team, whereas hockey has seen many players representing India from Kodagu.

Robin is the son of national hockey empire Aiyyuda Venu Uthappa and Rozi.

A UNIQUE PROTEST;

While the majority of the organizers protesting Cauvery tribunal’s verdict did so by crippling life in town and high ways, a group at Kushalnagar protested in a novel, rather meaningful way.

Sneha Integrated Development Society members held protest on the banks of river Cauvery and shouted slogans. They drowned the efficgies of karunanidhi, Girish karnad and others in the water. They squatted on the banks and continued protest till evening.
