WOMAN MURDERED AND ROBBED;

An old lady was done to death and her jewelry robbed at virajpet.

According to police, Devaki, 65 was murdered inside her house on the 26th night and culprits have left with cash and jewelry.

Culprits broke into the house of the old lady at Palangala village in Virajpet taluk by removing tiles and sliced her neck. Her body was found in a pool of blood inside the house yesterday and shelves and almirahs were wide open.

Police suspect robbery is the main reason for murder. Search is on to trace the culprits.

The lady leaves four children. While three daughters are married, a son leaves in Vishakapatna. She was living alone.

KERALA MLA TO MEET KUMARSWAMY;

Kerala MLA, Sudakaran will lead a delegation to the chief minister Kumaraswamy on March to urge repair of the dilapidated highways leading to Kerala from Kodagu.

Two other MLAs, PWD officials and a Zilla panchayath president will accompany Sudhakaran. A meeting is fixed at Bangalore also with the PWD minister and officials to discuss the issue.

The Kerala government had earlier sent a Video picture of the worst condition of the highway to Kerala maintained by Karnataka government. A delegation had met the Chief Minister six months ago and requested him to maintain the road. The CM had promised them to do the road at a cost of rupees 27 crores through NABARD. But nothing is done so far.

BANDH OBSERVED AT CHETTALLI;

Chettali, a small town, 16 KMs from Madikeri observed bandh yesterday protesting against a protest organized by JDs, recently.

The BJP led protesters shouted slogans against JDs and its leader V.P.Shashidar and accused that JDs is trying to support culprits and provoke minorities.

JDs led by V.P.Shashidar had organized a protest recently against police and alleged atrocity on minorities.

Police were attacked by a band of youth recently and the arrest was made in connection with that. JDs opposed the arrest.
