JAMMA CIRCULAR WILL NOT BE IMPLEMENTEDMadikeri Jan. 3 The recent controversial circular issued by the govt. secretariat will not be implemented now-assured the Kodagu district in charge minister Ramachandragowda in a press conference here. The state revenue department is keen interested in getting the detail information about the Jamma Bane lands in Kodagu. A committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the state revenue minister. After the detail study by the committee, further decision will be taken in this connection- assured Ramachandragowda. The problem pertaining Jamma lands in Kodagu is unsolved since many years. It is continued from long back. The forest department has complicated it putting forth law and rule. There is remedy for the long standing problem-said the minister. The City municipal council and the town Panchayaths elections are nearing. The discussion for BJP JDS is going on. The present coalition Govt. any how does not want the congress to occupy position in the local bodies-opined Ramachandragowda He told he is in charge of kodagu and Kolar districts for the selection of suitable candidates from B.J.P. DISSOLED VIRAJPET TOWN PANCHAYATHMadikeri Jan. 3 In a sudden announcement the state Govt. has dissolved the Virajpet town Panchayath elected body . The decision came one monthly early before the schedule. Farook Rahim the president (congress) and K.K.Chandrakala vice president (Congress) have lost their power. The Govt. has appointed the administrator. Howeever, the BJP ruled Somwarpet town Panchayath has not been dissolved. Usha Thejaswi, the president and Vijayalakshmi Suresh, the vice president from BJP still hold office. The Madikeri City Municipal Council elected body continued for name sake since two and a half year. The stay in High court for the president and vice presidents’ election under the reservation controversy had also stopped the Madikeri CMC presidential elections. The elected body duration has ended on 31.12.2006. No administrator has been appointed so for. STONE PELTING ON M.L.A’S HOUSE:1 ARRESTEDMadikeri Jan.3 Office bearer of RSS Chakkera Manu was arrested yesterday night about 11 p.m. Virajpet Thaluk M.L.A Basavaju had complained to the Gonikoppal police during night. M.L.A in his complaint told that Manu of RSS is tapping the house doors and also pelted stones on he window glasses. When the police rushed to the spot, the incident was visible and the Accused Chakkera Manu was found drunken. They carried him to hospital for medical check up and report and today morning produced before the magistrate. The magistrate has ordered for judicial custody of the accused. Chakkea Manu was angry about the non cooperation of MlA Basavaraju for the Hindu Samajotsava held on 1st January at Gonikoppal and he annoyed when the M.L.A joined hands as a show off on the procession and function day. |
