LABOURER MURDEREDMadikeri Jan.10 A labourer was assaulted and succumbed to injuries at Badgarakeri village near Shrimangala. The deceased karia was working as a lobourer under Subramani of Porad village. A few days back Bhoja from Nagpur, periapatna thaluk joined for work under Subramani. When the work was going at the coffee estate unnecessary conversation between karia and Bhoja turned to tension. Bhoja hit on karias head using a wooden stick.. who then died in the hospital. CM-BJP MLA METMadikeri Jan. 10 Chief Minister H.D.kumaraswamy had a dinner discussion with Virajpet M. l.A H.D.Basavaraju of BJP in his house at Bangalore. The recent incident of stone throwing on the house of M.L.A at Gonikoppal caused division in BJP. The complication arised after the arrest of Chakkera Manu Hindu activists on the basis of BJP M.L.A Basvaraju’s complaint.Manu has been released on bail. But, the inner fire is slowly coming out. Some dalith organizations have condemned the incident and supported Basavaraju who is the state ST cell leader also. .The Dalith association’s move has further widened the gap. C.M.Kumaraswamy visited the house of Basavaraju and had a dinner with him.A rumour was spread that Basvaraju may join JDS. When contacted over phone Basavaraju denied such development.. Chief minister just visited to show his concern about the developments in Virajpet thaluk and no other discussions are done he clarified. When CM came out of the MLA’s house he told he enquired abut the incident and the repercussions at Virajpet thaluk. No other interest is behind the visit he disclosed with the media persons. Reacting to the CM’s visit to BJP MLA’s house D.V.Sadananda Gowda the state BJP president opined that the development is observed and if needed necessary clarification will be taken from the concerned MLA- he told. Photo: CM Kumaraswamy had a dinner with MLA Basavaraju INCREASED KEROSINE QUOTA SOUGHT FOR THE STATEMadikeri Jan.10 Increased kerosene quota is sought from the centre for Karnataka State-Thara Ajayasimha, the state Food and Civil supply Principal secretary disclosed here in a press conference. She was speaking to press after a meeting held in the DC’s office. Lot of complaints is received while distributing the BPL and APL cards which will be set right soon-she assured. The unfair distribution and the non distribution of any cards are the complaints received she explained. If the mistakes repeats during the second stage distribution of cards, stringent action will be taken against the concerned officers –warned Thara Ajayasimha. The final decision will be taken during a meeting to be conductced within a week by the Kodagu deputy Commissioner- she assured. The deputy commissioner Subodh yadav who also present in the press conference gave statistics about the total distribution of cards in Kodagu. 1,,44,399 families are identified for the fair price card distribution.
