Madikeri Jan.12 A rare animal pangolin was found in kaikeri village near Gonikoppal. The local dentist Dr. Ashik Chengappa found this animal in the village. To protect it from the assaulters he carefully picked it and has provided shelter in his Dog’s house.

This scaled animal eats ants and termiles. It is a shyful animal and it congests its body rounding like a ball. Whenever it needs food then it spreads its body. To confuse the enemies it gives away bad smell. The pangolin captured is 4 feet long and 10 k.g .weight.

The animal could not be protected long as a domestic one.. The stomach portion of the animal is so soft and if any small particle hits it will be damaged resulting in the death of the Pangolin.

To avoid the harm Dr. Ashik is interested to hand over the animal to Mysore Zoo..
