WATERY GRAVE FOR TWO YOUTH;

Two youth from kodagu died in a beach yesterday as the giant waves swept them into ocean.

Nasir and pratap, both aged 23 had been to Mangalore yesterday along with four other friends in motorbikes. The group went to Someshwara beach near Ullal in Mangalore by evening and started braving the tides. Three friends rushed to safety as a giant wave approached them. But Nasir and Pratap were swept away while onlookers rescued Irfan with much difficulty.

The boys were warned about the danger, according to onlookers and yet they entered water.

The deceased, only sons to their parents were doing business at Madikeri. They went with friends on a holiday without informing their parents.

Autopsy was conducted at Wenlock hospital Mangalore and the bodies were handed over to parents.

RAILWAY LINE TO KODAGU PROPOSED;

Member of the parliament, Prema Kalappa yesterday said that the railway department has prepared a proposal for railway line in Kodagu.

Addressing scribes at Kushalnagar, she said that a rupees 1138 crore project is submitted to the government to include Kodagu in Railway.

Talking to scribes after attending Oororme function at Koadava samaj, kushalnagar , she stated that the railway line would be connected through kerala, Bhagamandala and also from Mysore to mangalore through madikeri. The survey work has been started, she said.

Prema Kalappa said that she has received a letter from the central railway minister R.velu to this affect and he has said that the government is looking into the proposal.
