GONIKOPPAL APMC::NO CONFIDENCE SUCCESFULMadikeri March 1 The BJP ruled Gonikoppal APMC found a new way of No Confidence motion against the President Bose Devaiah and the Vice President Arun Bheemaiah loosing their positions due to in fight in their own party. Out of 15 members BJP have 12 directors. The no confidence was moved by some BJP members only. When the motion was moved for voting 8 members including 5 BJP members voted in favour of the motion and sent the president and vice presidents out. Although 7 BJP members voted against the motion they failed to retain the posts. Two congress and one JDS members joined hands with the 5 revolted BJP members and the motion was successful with 8- 7 voters. The complication in theVirajpet thaluk BJP started after clash between the BJP MLA Basavaraju and some of the Hindu organizations during HJindu Samajotsava at Gionikoppal. Bose Devaiah the Gonikoppal APMC president and the Ex. Virajpet thaluk BJP president had backed the MLA fraction during the conflict. This enraged a section of the BJP members and they have succeeded in defeating the APMC president Bose Deviah and thus taking revenge against the MLA fraction of BJP. POST GRADUATE COLLEGE TO SOMWARPETMadikeri March 1 Somwarpet will get Post graduate college next year-announced D.H.Shankaramurthy the Karnataka Higher Education minister. He was speaking in a function arranged by the department to take over the private owned BT Chennaiah jr. College near Somwarpet. The PG course will be commenced in the present took over institution premises having more than 15.5.acres of land. He appreciated the good gesture of the Private administrative board for handing over the institution without expecting any profit for the dealings. Minister opined that the foreigners have forced bonded lab our system in the education field also during the pre independence time which has continued till now. This system of education should be changed with the reflection of our own culture. The coalition Govt. is interested to give priority to education .This year 15 new colleges will be opened with all infrastructural faculties he announced A proposal to establish 90 new colleges during next year in Karnataka is under process he told. All the Vacant lecturer post will be filled up during next year he assured. The minister also at4ended the Foundation stone laying function at Napoklu College. While speaking there he announced that Rs. 45 crores is sanctioned for the building extensions of various colleges in Karnataka. He announce the release of Rs. 45 Lakh for Napoklu college building as a first stage funding MERCHANTS PROTEST AGAINST THE BUREACRAT ACTMadikeri March 1 Merchants of Madikeri town under the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce organization office bearers protested the bureaucrat act of the City Municipal Council Officials , Madikeri. Today morning when the 7 merchants at Madikeri town tried to open the shops they found a big lock and sceal of City Municipal Council. The lapse in remittance of proper license fee was the cause behind the act. Inside some shop buildings which are attached to the residents, children and the family member s were also blocked .Even, the school going children were blocked and were made unable to go. The enraged merchants complained to the Madikeri Town Chamber of Commerce and the District Chamber of Commerce here. The Town Chamber of Commerce president Navin,Vice president Month Ganesh, the District Chamber of Commerce General Secretary G.Chidvilas and Vice president K.M.Ganesh and others led the merchants to sit Dharna on the Road in Chowk area. They blocked the road and shouted slogans against the CMC officials. The CMC Commissioner Roya came to the spot who has to face hot response from the agitators. He assured that the concerned health Inspector Nagaraj who has done the act without proper instructions will be suspended. He wrote a letter to the deputy Commissioner recommending the suspension. Meanwhile the agitators walked nearly two K.Ms to reach the CMC office. They forced the Commissioner Roya to walk with them, who had to bow which became inevitable. The COC office bearers suggested to collect the license fee in the respective shops personally. They warned the CMC not to close any shops before consulting the office bearers of COC.
