YOUTH RAPE GRANNY;

In a bizarre incident, an old lady aged seventy years was raped by three youth at Taltare Shettalli village at Somwarpet taluk.

According to police, three youth Lokesh, sampath and Raghu went to the house of old couple at night on sixth. They went in the pretext of asking torch light and made the couple drink alcohol. Later the lady was dragged out into forest and allegedly raped. Her husband began to shout and called for help from the window. Their son living at a distance rushed to the spot. The old lady was found in an unconscious manner.

Police who received the complaint at first had settled the issue suspiciously by taking written apology. The accused were let out Scot free. Yesterday members of Cauvery gramina Abhivrudhi samithy once again lodged a complaint and protested against the injustice. Succumbing to pressure police arrested Raghu and Sampath and registered a case. Villagers told that the case would have been closed if they did not protest.
