GREEDY SON SHOOTS MOTHER;Madikeri March 21, 2007 A cash hungry son shot his 57 year old mother to death at their estate house and let the body decay inside. The incident was reported from Chennangolly near Polibetta , 40 kilometers from here. According to police Mekerira Saroja, 57 lived with her don Pavi Chengappa in the house. Both of them were seen buying fish from the town on fifteenth from the town. The same evening, Pavi had a fight with her, demanding money. The mother was cleaning the fish. Pavi came from behind and shot at her with a gun and she fell dead on the floor. Leaving the dead body inside he fled to Bangalore in the jeep. He returned home with his friends in a quails after three days and again returned with eight bags of coffee. The friends questioned him about the decaying smell and he convinced them stating that it was fish which smells so. He had told neighbors that his mother has gone to Bangalore. People went suspicious about the behavior of Pavi. A relative went to his house yesterday and noticed bad smell. He lodged a complaint with the police who broke into the house. The decaying body sprawling in a pool of blood was found inside the kitchen. Police arrested Pavi and recovered the gun used in the crime. TAMIL SHOOTING BLOCKED;Kannada association members led by Prabhudev and friends yesterday blocked shooting of a Tamil film and protested the act of blocking Vishnuvardans movie shooting at Ooty by Tamilians. The activists yesterday rushed to Veerabhumi resort where Tamil movie “Ilamai Jodi” was being shot. They shouted slogans and demanded closure of the shooting. Movie director and producer Periya Swamy and Micheal Suresh tried to convince the protestors in vain. Police arrived at the spot and brought the situation under control. He Tamil group agreed to stop shooting and satisfied the protestors. Neelgal Ravi, Vinu Chakravarthi, Likita and others were starring the movie shooting. WIFE DONE TO DEATH;A drunken brawl between couples led to killing of wife in an estate line house. Chandra and Gange lived in line house of Subramanya plantation at Sunticoppa. They got into drunken brawl reportedly on the night of 18th. Chandra reportedly held her by the plate and bashed her face against the wall repeatedly. A bleeding Gange died on the spot. Chandra fled the scene. The murder came to light only yesterday. The estate manager lodged a complaint with the police. Police are looking for the accused who is absconding. |
