RECONSECRAION OF PADI SHRI IGGUTHAPPA

Madikeri Feb.11 The Kodava community diety Shri Padi Igguthappa is reconsecrated with all the religious rituals and performance. Shri Nileshwara Padmanabha Tanthri and followers conducted all the homas , havanas and installed the diety at 9 A.M.ON 10TH in meena lagna, Utharabhadra nakshathram.,Ganapathi homa, Ankura pooja, Thrikala pooja, punar paratishta, Ganapahi patishta,Ashtabandha, Kalashabhissheka and other religious performances done.

A team of devotees conducted bhajans. Sound of chande (Doll) by Kerala team spread in all angles. Lord Subramanya is called Igguthappa here. Thousands of devotees participated in the Pooja and also in mass feeding.

Aramaeri Shri Shanthamallikarjuna Swamiji was invited as chief guest for religious address. Deputy commissioner K.R.Nirnjan presided. Kalyatanda K.Muthappa, the Bhaktha jana sangha president and paradanda kaverappa, the temple management committee president were present.

SHOT AT THREE PERSONS: ONE SERIOUSLY INJURED

Madikeri Feb. 11 one person was seriously injured and other two luckily escaped unhurt when a man indiscriminately shot at them. Benjanda Kashi of Begur village near here suddenly shot at C.B. Ganapathi and ponnappa of the same village. Both were escaped due to long distance of target. C.C.Vinod who interfered to stop further attack was directly shot by the accused ;He immediately collapsed on the ground,. He has been shifted to M Mysore for treatment.

People who gathered after the incident have attacked the culprit and handed over him to police. The accused did the act for silly reasons - it was told.
