SOLDIERS BODY DEALYED

Arrival of the soldiers body, killed in Jammu avalanche is delayed further.

Soldier Tilak from Kodagu was killed by an avalanche at Sadna in Jammu and Kashmir highway on fourth of this month. Relatives had been waiting for the arrival of his body and the army officials had said that it will arrive yesterday. The long, grief stricken wait ended yesterday with further pain as they received the message that the body is yet to be flown to Delhi.

The commanding officer B.K.Mishra told this correspondent over phone that they took two days to dig out the body from the spot. Though it was ready to be flown, technical formalities are delaying the process. The body might arrive at Delhi either today or tomorrow and would be flown to Bangalore. Later it will be brought to his native Hysodlur in Hudikeri for last rites.

MURDERERS GET FOUR YEAR

Three persons killing a woman in Kodagu are awrded four years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of rupees one lakh each.

The fast track court here has pronounced judgement against B.P.Pravin, Puttraju and somavathi of shanivarsanthe. The trio had attacked one Sadashiva of Shanivarsanthe on 8.10.05 over a property dispute. Sdashivas wife Gowramma came to his rescue and the accused attacked her badly. She was shifted a nursing home at Hassan where she breathed her last.

The fast track court heard the witnesses and pronounced the judgement.

ROSE WOOD SEIZED;

Srimangala police have seized rosewood logs worth rupees six lakhs from an estate at Devanur.

According to police, the logs were illegally dressed to smuggle and stored in the estate belonging to one A.Bose Mandanna. The booty was handed over to forest department and investigation is on.

PROTEST AT MADENAD;

Nagarika Horata samity has released a statement and said that a road block is organized at madenad on this 15th.

Member of the Samity, advocate Subhash has said that the high way crossing madenad to mangalore is in a deplorable state and the department is caring least to their appeal for repair. People with the support of many other organizations will hold a protest, he has said.
