POLITICAL IMPASSE IS WORLD PHENOMENON

Political impasse is a world phenomenon and it is found not only in Karnataka, explained former Prime Minister H.D. Devegowda.

Addressing a JDs meet here today, Gowda said that interference from Pakistan and Kashmir issues are a curse and calamitous for India. He blamed the policies of the central government and said that its weakness is allowing entry of terrorists into states and the nation. Unemployment and poverty are the two main hassles leading youth to take to terrorism, he opined.

Gowda said that JDs intends to bring change in the financial policy and provide opportunity for backward classes. Extending a hearty welcome to the former minister M.C.Nanaiah into parties fold, he stated that the entry of Nanaiah has added strength to it. He also invited MLC Arun Machaiah to join JDs.

He condemned the act of Hindu organizations which forced the minority commission president Dwarakanath recently to drink Teerta from Talacauvery.

JDs convention was held here to take former minister M.C.Nanaiah into JDs fold.

State president Merajuddin Patel addressed the gathering and reacted strongly against projecting all Muslims as terrorists. He accused BJP of dividing the major communities in the name of caste and religion.

Addressing the gathering after joining JDs, M.C. Nanaiah told that his decision to join JDs is inevitable as the country requires a third front. He said that he is always opposed to the policies of Congress and BJP. Though he had won election once from Congress, he still did not accept its policies whole heartedly.

Former MLC Arun Machaiah, state working president Narayan Swamy, ZP member Abdul Azim, spoke on the occasion.

TIGER MENACE CONTINUED

Madikeri Feb. 11 Tiger menace in south Kodagu is continued. No action by the forest department irrespective of complaints and memorandums by the villagers to trap the wild animal. The tiger has killed the cow belong to Badumanda Lava. The cow has just delivered a calf and the baby has to grow without mother’s milk. The tiger has also crunched the calf which caused injuries on the neck. The villagers have stopped the forest official’s vehicle and have protested against the inaction by the department. Since two months more than 5 cases of attacks are reported in the surrounding villages.The ACF Nagarajachar has deputed forest guards in the village to guard during night time. After this assurance the villagers allowed the vehicle to go. ACF has also assured that a special meeting would be conducted on 18th (Monday) at Shrimangala to discuss about future course of action.

BHAGAVADGITHA IN KODAVA LANGUAGE

Madikeri Feb.11A book on Bhagvadgitha in Kodava language in poetic format has been released today at a function held at Town hall, Madikeri.21 lessons including 18 Githa lessons,Varaha purana and other analysis are the contents in the book.2047 stanzas are composed by Nagesh Kalur a writer, It took 4 years to complete the writing-Nagesh Kalur said.

The writers from Bangalore Bovverianda Chinnappa and Dr. Nanjamma Chinnappa have inaugurated the book. While speaking Dr. Nanjamma Chinnappa opined that in Kodava language writings and stories about Padi igguthaa and thalacauvery and other ancient history are brought out in book format. This is the first time a book about the most important religious literature that is Bhagavadgitha is brought out. She told this is the highest ever contribution to Kodava readers in all respect.
