KHARGE TRYING TO DEVIATE TERRORIST INVESTIGATION;

The state BJP president Sadananda Gowda told here that congress state president Mallikarjuna Kharge is trying to deviate the terrorist investigation through his statements.

Addressing a press conference here, he stated that Congress and JDs are striking an adjustment with terrorism and showing soft corner to it. Though the police are investigating the matter with proper attention, Kharge is trying to divert their attention to woo the voters. The vote bank politics of JDS and Congress looks like an encouragement to terrorism, he accused.

Gowda urged the governments to keep an eye on the eyes of students hailing from Pakistan and Bangladesh. He also urged the center government to allow Karnataka police to handle the cases of terrorism in Karnataka and it should not interfere.

He also urged the government to ban KFD organization and said that its president Abubacker has a suspicious background. KFD is continuing the activities of the banned SIMI organization, he alleged. The organization has also threatened the journalists and if the authorities do not tighten their grip, state is going to face problems in future, he predicted.

He accused the Governor of Karnataka of ignoring the projects taken up by the then government. He is acting as a doll in the hands of congress, Gowda ridiculed. Election should be held before May end and the new government should be allowed to place the budget, he opined. He asserted that BJP will fight the election on the grounds of strength and not on the grounds of sympathy.

Sadananda Gowda took to task the Jnanapeeta awardee Anantha Murthy for his remarks against BJP and RSS. Why can not we call him a mad dog?, he questioned.

State General secretary Shobha karantlaje, former minister Ashok, former MLAs K.G.Bopaiah, Appachu ranjan, district president Sunil Subramani and others were present.

KODAGU LOSES ONE CONSTITUENCY;

The president has signed the recommendation of de limitation and Kodagu has lost Somwarpet constituency. Smallest district in the state, Kodagu has had three assembly constituencies. The de limitation has now trimmed it into two and Somwarpet constituency has merged with Madikeri and Virajpet.

The change is brought in the parliament constituency also. The Kodagu – Mangalore constituency has now become Kodagu – Mysore constituency.

ZP ASKS CHESCOM TO STOP POWER CUT;

The Zilla Panchayath president Deergakeshi Shivanna yesterday instructed the CHESCOM officials not to apply power cut till the examinations are over.

Addressing the twenty point development review meeting, she said that a letter to this effect was sent to the state managing director Bharatlal Meena.

The CHESCOM executive engineer told the meeting that the power stations in the district are wearing out and are unable to take the required load. They will be set right at the earliest, he assured.

The meeting discussed the tiger menace in south Kodagu and decided to write to the concerned to seek permission to catch them. Members alleged that the compensation being paid to the owners of the cows being killed by tigers.

The meeting discussed issues about horticulture activities and development in rajas seat.CEO Sundar, vice president rajamma Rudraiah were present.
