MORE THAN 1500 TELEPHONE LINES LOST CONNECTION

Madikeri Feb. 23 Lack of proper consultancy before commencing the work has led to damages to land line telephone connections and caused disconnections of more than 1500 BSNL land line connections today.. In Madikeri town.Mohan telecomes New Delhi, has taken contract from BSNL for the installation of new technology system in addition to the present cable system.. The company while conducting the work has damaged the already installed underground cable system in Kohinorr road, Pvt .busstand areas, post office road, and Chamundeswari nagar areas..While carrying the work accidentally the company workers es have damaged the cable in many places of the town, about 1500 connections are lost.

According to , e A.Lingappa gowda the department engineer: Identification of faulty centres is more difficult and men are on move. The cement roads in these areas would not allow the digging on the ground. The Mohan telecoms company had installed the optical fibres by using the new technology machine without digging the ground. This machjine can install the fiber system up to 300 meters at a stretch which will go below the soil.

The company has done the work in an urgent manner without consultations with the department. This is the main cause of heavy loss. The BSNL authorities are now seriously worried to set right the thing, At present there is no remedy for the problem. They cannot dig concrete roads for new installation or they may not get permission from the local bodies to conduct digging of roads. In the town areas.
