ARMY JAWAN’S FAMILY DROWNEDMADIKERI Feb. 26 Wife of an army jawan commits suicide in Abbiyala village near chettalli. Preethu ,wife of Havaldar Arun Cariappa jumped into the stream with her 4 year old daughter and both of them drowned in the deep water.The dead bodies were lifted and cremated. Arun kumar is serving as havaldar in Indian Army..His wife Preethu was living at Ponampwet with her daughter.Arun Kaverappa could not reach Kodagu immediately as the avalanche in jammu -Kashmir is blocking the pathway. Girl Riya was studying in LKG at St. Anthony school, Ponnampet.Wife Preethu was engaged in coffee picking in the estate at Abbiyala village belong to her husband Arun. Chingappa father of Preethu complained to police. Police are investigating. MUTHAPPA RAI –MASS FEEDINGMadikeri Feb. 26 Muthappa Rai has announced that he will donate for mass feeding at Shri Shanthamllikarjuna Swamy temple on March 4th and 5th during Mahashivarathri celebrations. During the festival thousands of devotees every year participate in the pooja.Muthappa Rai said that he is donating through Jai Karnataka organization which has been started for social cause. He told that his organization is serving in cultural, educational and religious field since several years which will be now extended to Kodagu district also . The organization has got more than one crore persons as members. In Kodagu district also if any person with good background and non political nature come forward to develop the organization they will be supported he explained. PROTEST AGAINST CHESCOMMadikeri Feb. 26 The Siddapur chamber of commerce branch has called for Siddapur bandh in protest against the electricity irregularity. in the town. The chamber had given time bounded warning to set right the problems. The chescom has neglected it. Yesterday, the merchants closed their shops protesting the negligence attitude of the department. They went in a procession from Siddapur busstand to Chescom office and shouted slogans against the department. .The office bearers further warned serious protest in future.
