‘HYDROCEPHALUS’ FEARED AT KOODUMANGALORU;

Residents of Koodumangaloru near Kudige are tensed that a strange disease is attacking their children.

A disease attacked child with a huge head was noticed recently during pulse polio programme in the area.

Health workers noticed that a child crossing one year has an abnormally big head. The parents Manjula and Yogesh stated that they adopted the child from Hunsur and were hiding it from the society as they feared consequences. The health workers who visited their house to enquire whether they have a child at home heard the cry even as the parents were telling they do not have one. Later they found the abnormal child and advised them to take it to the doctors. Later they disclosed that the child was normal til one month and its head started growing from the second month.

Dr.Ravichandra, who treated the child, said that the child is suffering from a disease called Hydrocephalus. He informed that the health department is conducting a survey of children in the area to identify such cases and they are being treated.

A one year child had died of the same disease in the vi9llage last year and this has been creating tension. Incidentally, the child which died last year was also brought from Hunsur.

ATTACK ON DYFI LEADER CONDEMNED;

Workers of the DYFI held a protest march and condemned the attack by BJP men on their president recently.

The protestors who held a meeting and a procession at Nellihudikeri alleged that their district president Ramanath and others was attacked by BJP men at Karike.

Condemning the high handedness, the workers demanded the immediate arrest of the accused and cautioned about more intensive protest.

DYFI district secretary Bharath and other leaders spoke on the occasion.

GOVERNOR REQUESTED TO DISSOLVE ACADEMY;

President of ‘Kodava takh elthkarada koota, A.C.Cariappa has written a letter to the governor and appealed to him to dissolve the tainted Kodava Academy.

He has revealed that the president Dotty Poovaiah facing multiple cases of forgery and misuse of funds is absconding since months and the registrar Muniraju has gone on a long leave. The staff sitting in the academy office is drawing money for nothing and the governor should take immediate action to settle the issue.

Cariappa has informed the governor that lakhs of rupees were misused by tampering the records and forging the signature of people including that of a formed chairman of the academy, Bacharaniyanda Appanna. Lakhs worth lottery tickets were also printed illegally and money was plundered by selling it.

Regretting that the concerned state officials and departments have failed to initiate any action against the president abs registrar in spite of repeated appeals and police case, he has urged the governor to take appropriate action.
