CALL TO STRENGTHEN EDUCATION FIELD

Madikeri January 23

High court judge Huluvadi Ramesh has called upon the society to strengthen the education system to build a better society.

Ramesh was addressing the gathering at Kodige during the valedictory function of Sports school platinum jubilee. He stated that training and education are the backbones of a successful society and urged that support should be provided to education institutions and facilities should be improved in them.

Athletes and coaches were honored during the function.DFO B.Mallesh spoke as a chief guest and said that the youth should keep away from bad habits.Retired IGP Anand spoke on the occasion.

Commissioner of youth service and sports, Amar Pandey welcomed the gathering.

BIKE RALLY TO SPREAD AWARENESS

A south India motorbike rally is organized to bring awareness about the wild life, environment and bravery .

National bravery and sports authority has organized the eight day rally starting from today.

The rally was flagged off at Nagarahole national park today. It will cover Abbi falls at Madikeri and tour around four states, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamilnadu and Puducherry. The eight day rally will have to cover eight thousand kilometers all together, according to former MLA, M.R.Seetharam.

RASTA ROKHO PLANNED AT BALELE;

People’s forum of Balele in south Kodagu has decided to hold rasta rokho on February 4.

A meeting held yesterday decided to hold rasta rokho to press the government to repair the balele road immediately, stop the high tension wire scheme across south Kodagu and to solve other burning issues like jamma land.

President Katti Mandaiah spoke on the occasion and said that a delegation will meet the governor shortly to explain to him the problems of people of Kodagu. The delegation would be led by member of the Parliament prema Kariappa. He also said that details of the Vidarba package was sought from the state secretary under transparency act and the issue will be tackled after getting reply.

ZP member Ranjan Chengappa, Malachira Ponnappa, C.T.Medappa and others spoke on the occasion and explained that the residents are living under constant threat of elephants along with the problems like bad roads, high tension wires, jamma land uncertainty.

CAUVERY SENE HOLD ROAD BLOCK

Cauvery Sene led by its convenor ravi Chengappa today blocked high way between Madikeri and virajpet for few hours, protesting against illegal sand lifting and high tenson wire project.

Hol;ding traffic on either side of the road at brthri, the protestors shouted slogan against the district administration and CESCOM.

Ravi Chengappa announced that the Sene will takeout a padayatra from this 28th as a next step of protest and seek peoples support to fight for the cauise. He said that the padayatra will begin from Maldare and end at Kutta.
