ATTEMPT TO MURDER;

Madikeri January 28

An agriculturist allegedly opened fire at a Boruka company manager at karike yesterday.

According to police, agriculturist Yogesh Bhat shot at one Pradip and the bullet hit his leg. Both of them were not in good terms. Pradip was undertaking some work on behalf of the Company and the boulders reportedly were falling on Yogeshs place. Yogesh had been raising objection and the clash turned violent yesterday.

Pardip suffered deep wound at the leg and is out of danger. He is shifted to a hospital.

Bhagamandala Police have registered a case.

TAILOS DEMAND FACILITIES;

The state tailors association president Lakshmana Ullal has said that they are denied of recognition in the society and denied of proper benefits from the government.

Inaugurating the annual function of the association here, he said that united fight is required to take the benefits due by the government to all. He also said that the society should also see that it works for recognition. He said that the government would be urged to provide a MLC post to a member from the tailor community.

Former MLA K.G.Bopaiah spoke on the occasion and said that the association should come farward to receive the benefits from the government. State committee secretary Manjunath explained the activities of the club. District office bearers Monti Ganesh, K.H.sheik,K.Sanjeev and others spoke on the occasion.

CALL TO PROTECT NATIONAL UNITY;

An all religious conference organized by SKSSF at Talacauvery called upon the different religions to work for the National; unity.

Addressing the function organized at Bhagamandala yesterday Abdul Azeem Dharimi stated that people should give up the feelings of superiority and inferiority. We must work and live together with unity for the society to function smoothly, he said. People should give up greed for money and power.

Seer Shantha Mallikarjuna Swamy called upon the people to fight for real values of life and develop detachment towards unwanted things in life. Stating that love cannot be bought by money, he said that a clear thinking can unite people.

MLC Arun Machaiah regretted that the population explosion is taking the country towards danger and it is going to beat China in it. Noting that the country is developing due to the contribution of youth, he called for unity in diversity.

Jamaith president Usman hoisted the flag. Jiffry thangal inaugurated the human chain. Heads of various religious and other organizations took part in the Sammelan.
