COMMISSIONER INVITES PEOPLES WRATH, COMMITTEE FORMED;

The City Municipal Commissioner Raya yesterday [23rd] was nearly roughed up by people for the dangerously formed concrete roads creating havoc in town.

Nearly a feet high concrete road in many parts of the town from the ground level with no drainage and side filling is inviting trouble every day. Accidents are occurring and pedestrians have no place to walk. Raya being the commissioner is not heeding to the repeated appeal by people and different organizations.

The Town Development Forum invited the Deputy Commissioner and City Municipal Commissioner yesterday to walk round the bad roads. They were made to watch the hazardous road for about two kilometers and the crowd following them tried to rough up Raya. The two officers watched the mess the road formation is in. Last week’s rain had made the places even more worse.

Holding a meeting after the walk, the deputy commissioner Niranjan directed Raya to take up the repair works immediately and formed a three member public committee to monitor the work.

Councilors baby Mathew and Chummi Devaiah, Forum president Niranjan, secretary Dayanand, district chamber secretary G.Chidvilas and others were present.
