FAKE BRANDY PRODUCERS ARRESTEDMadikeri March 28 Shrimangala police in South Kodagu have seized fake brandy producing unit established at Thavalgeri village. The accused were trapped when they were carrying the fake brandy making machine, chemicals and bottles in Maruthi van No. KA12 M 4769 and Ishar van KA 03 A 8540. The vehicles were coming from Mysore with the materials on 27th night. The police have raided the vehicles and seized 12 cans of each 35 litre containing spirit, other supporting chemicals and the special machines. They have also seized 13,000 empty quarter bottles covered in 230 boxes, the caps for the bottles, various labels. Police have arrested vehicle drivers Hemanth and Sanjeeva of Mysore, Indrakumar and Umesh of H.D.Kote. Mahesh of Shrimangala Kemaparaj and Paramesh of H.D.kote who were inside the vehicle during raid were managed to escape from the spot.Two vehicles are seized.Old monk, Choice and Superjak brand labels were found in the vehicles. Thaluk panchayath president Saritha Poonacha presided the meeting.. The gas racket is growing in the thaluk. The cylinders meant for residential use is sold for running the autos and other vehicles. If any case of vehicles using the domestic gas is found, such vehicles would be immediately seized, the T.P. president announced in the meeting. The BPL card holders should get the gas connections. Already 5 thousand applications are submitted. The officers should find out the genuianity of the BPL cards and should distribute to the competent. The bogus cards should be seized she instructed. The other resolutions are:-To clear the obstacles in distributing sites at kanur village for 39 families, to follow up the sanctioning of Rs. 60 crore under Rajivgandhi package scheme from Rural electrification corporation, to distribute 25 thousand each to the couple of intercaste marriage on April 14th on Dr. Ambedkar Jayanthi day,. The residents can keep only 9 litres of beer in their homes. If the stock exceeds, it will be dealt with excise law-This was disclosed by the excise SI Pradeep in the T.P. Meerting. CONGRESS WALKED OUT IN SOMWARPET T.P.MEETINGMadikeri March 28 4 congress members walked out of the meeting in Somwarpet taluk panchayath meeting. They opposed the selection of two lady members from the ruling BJP for the Swarna jayanthi project implementation committee.They demanded one member should be considered from the opposition congress. When president turned down the appeal they boycotted the whole proceedings. Before this happening the BJP and Congress members used harsh words each other regarding the construction of Stree Shakthi Bhavan.The opposition congress members demanded the construction of the Bhavan in Mahadeshwara block They explained that already the women and children department has released Rs. 30 lakhs for the construction of the Bhavan.But, BJP members argued that the noted land should be kept for forming a beautiful garden their.They also told that the land is reserved for the construction of Mahadeshwara temple.The president Nalini Ganesh told that a desperate land would be provided to construct Sthree Shakthi Bhavan and the reserved land would be used for the purpose it s kept -she explained. |
