ENGINEERING STUDENT DROWNEDMadikeri March 30 Ashwath Hegde (21) a studying 3rd year engineering in Jayachamarajendra Engineering college, Mysore is drowned in water fall in Kodagu. There is one beautiful water fall called Mallalli falls in Somwarpet thaluk.Usually tourists enjoy here especially during summer taking bath and swimming. Yesterday Ashwath hegde and his two friends Rajendra,Amit Prasad and Mahadevprasad all engineering students in the same college came in a Santro car along with the driver. All of them enjoyed in deep water. It is said that they came to the water bank for changing the dress. But, Ashwath who told that his shirt is full of mud and he will go and wash downwards and gone little away.But, the friends who waited for him could not found his trace.Today afternoon the body was lifted by Ramakrishna a forest daily wage employee at Kushalnagar and Prasanna of Kumaralli who are expert divers.Somwarpet police SI Sureshkumar regisatered a case. The deceased was the son of Subraya a resident of Mavinakodu village, Shirsi thaluk. Parents have arrived to Somwarpet after hearing the missing case. The dead body will be shifted to the native place for cremation. The three friends had a plan to reach Shri Kukke Subramanya temple from Bisleghat near Somwarprt. Unfortunately they changed their mind to have a bath in the falls.The incident is said to be accidental. Photo : A view of Mallalli falls RS.882 CRORE CREDIT PLANMadikeri March 30 For 2008 Rs.882 crore credit plan is released by K.R.Sunder,the Zilla Panchayath Chief executive officer. He appreciated the work by Corporation lead bank in kodagu.All the banks in the district have achieved their goal last year he said. The credit plan details:-Rs.656 crore is reserved for agricultural sector,Rs.120 crore for business and other purposes,Rs.11 crore for small industries. The priority sector occupies total amount of Rs. 787 crore and non priority sector got Rs.95 crore. Last year agricultural sector received Rs. 560 crore and small industries Rs. 8 crore and other activities Rs. 108 crore.Total Rs. 774 crore was released last year.This year Madikeri thaluk will get Rs. 308 crores,Virajpet thaluk Rs. 331 crores and Somwarpet thaluk Rs. 208 crores BSP AGAINST BOYCOTMadikeri March 30 BSP is against election boycott call by kodagu existence committee. Party State secretary K.M.Kunji Abdulla while speaking in a press conference disclosed that Kodagu Jamma land problem should be solved in legislative house which can be achieved through elections only.He teased the inefficiency of political leaders like M.C.Nanaiah,M.M.Nanaiah,Suma vasanth, T.John,B.A.jeevijaya, K.G.bopaiah,Appachju Ranjan and Arun machaih who could not solve the burning issue.BSP has also opposed RajBhavan chalo call by the existence committee led by M.N..Belliappa. |
