STUDENTS BODY TRACED;

Body of the engineering student drowned in a water falls near Somwarpet was traced yesterday the 30th.

Team of expert swimmers frisked out the body of Ashwath hedge an engineering student at Jayachamarajendra engineering college, Mysore from the depth of Mallalli water falls.

Three students who had come on a trip on Saturday entered water. Hegde slipped down into deep waters and his body was not traced. Police and public struggled to trace the body since Saturday and a swimmer Ramakrishna located it under water. Expert swimmers from forest department arrived at the spot and pulled the body out after several dives.

Hegde hails from Sirsi Mavinakodu. Body is brought to Somwarpet for autopsy. It will be taken to Mavinakodu by his parents for cremation.

STRESS FOR DRINKING WATER, ROAD AND DRAINAGE;

The Town Panchayath Virajpet received requests from public for immediate attention to be given to drinking water, road facility and drainage.

In a contact programme organized by the town Panchayath recently at Virajpet, people put forth their suggestions and opinions to improve to town.

Residents complained that lots of drinking water is being wasted in many places whereas drinking water is hardly reaching the consumers. Urge to widen the private bustand, improve drainage system which is causing health hazard in places were some of the important issues which came up for discussion. It was also urged to make available all the commodities in the TP market area.

President Kanthi Belliappa assured the public that the TP will give priority for drinking water and clean environment. She also said that their appeals will be addressed suitably. Vice president S.H.Moinuddin and members were also present. Representatives from different organizations spoke on the occasion.

SONIA AIYYAPPA IN MISS INDIA CONTEST;

Mandepanda Sonia Aiyappa from Kodagu is contesting for the Miss India tittle being sponsored by Zoom TV net work, Mumbai.

Sources said that Sonia is the only girl contesting from Karnataka. She is the daughter of Mandepanda Chinnappa Aiyappa from Kavadi village.

BSNL CONSUMERS TO PROTEST;

BSNL consumers from Napoklu have decided to stage protest against the department alleging poor service.

In a press note, consumers have alleged that BSNL is not responding to their complaints about poor cell phone service. If the department fails to attend to their services, they will stage a protest, they have cautioned.
