53 CASES AGAINST MUTHALIKMadikeri February 3, 2009 The president of Sree Rama Sene, Pramodh Muthalik was fixed in 53 cases. Talking to scribes yesterday after after his release from court on bail at Virajpet, Muthalik said that about 41 cases out of the 53 are settled and twelve more cases are pending enquiry. Denying that he has erred anywhere, he clarified that he was unable to attend court on occasion. Muthalik opined that he will succeed in converting India into a Hindu nation one day. He reiterated that Pub, Club and Drug are not Hindu culture and said that he will oppose Valentines Day. The government, youth and colleges will be informed not to celebrate it, he said. He however said that violent measures will not be initiated during valentine’s celebration, if it takes place anywhere. He said that the expression of love has to take root in the heart and it cannot sprout only on one day in a year. HINDU JAGRATI SABHE ON FIFTHHindu organizations are holding a Hindu awareness function at Madikeri on this fifth. Elaborate arrangements and publicity is given to the function and all Hindus are invited to participate. Spokesperson of the function, Mohan Naik told scribes in a press conference yesterday that their focus is to re introduce the cultural and traditional practices in Hindu brethren. He said that they will lay emphasis on respecting deities, national leaders and saints. Leaders from other parts will come and deliver talks on fifth. District spokesperson Gombe Appachu, Vijayakumar was also present in the press conference. FIRST LADY SUB INSPECTOR TO KODAGUAn M.A. graduate S.M.Veena, has taken charge as town police sub inspector at Madikeri. This happens to be the first posting of a lady as a sub inspector in Kodagu. Veena was serving in the Superintendent of police, Mysore office for a year. Another lady R.Durga has also taken charge as a probationer assistant sub inspector at Taluk police station. Superintendent of police Suresh is keen on appointing lady constables to all the police stations to monitor traffic and few appointments are already made. NINE LAKH WORTH EQUIPEMENTS TO PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED;An Italian Rotary Club joining hands with Kushalnagar Rotary distributed sophisticated equipments to a centre for physically challenged at Kushalnagar. District rotary governor Krishnashetty distributed the equipments in a joint function held at the center. Dr.Ashok pai from Shimoga, Krishna Shetty spoke on the occasion and said that it is the duty of the society to bring to main stream the physically challenged children. President Mahesh, Christina from Italy, Tibetan monk Valden and others were present. |
