PROPOSAL WILL BE SENT TO STATE GOVT.

Madikeri Feb. 8: Proposal will be sent to get sanction for the II nd stage infrastructural and development work in Bhagamandala pilgrimage centre. First stage is completed and the Reconsecration of the deities will be done from April 2 nd to 15th.K.G.Bopaiah, the deputy speaker disclosed this in a meeting held recently at Bangalore organized by the Bangalore Kodava and gowda Samajas.

The second stage of work includes the desiltng of Cauvery river bed at Bhagamandala and to heighten the bathing area-Bopaiah said. Up keeping of cleanliness, building up of drainage system, construction of dwelling houses for the archaks and the temple staff are the works to be included in IInd stage. The proposal will be sent to provide money under budgetary provisions- he said. The Ist stage of rejuvenation of the temples through Cauvery Neeravari nigama is completed at the cost of Rs, 16 crores –he disclosed. The Thalacauvery and Bhagamandala temples will be officially handed over to mujarai department and the local temple fund committee April 9th after the Reconsecration of the deities is done.

Earlier, the Bangalore Kodava Samaj ex. President M.N.Belliappa requested the kodagu representatives to commence the IInd stage work. .The main aim should be the maintenance of cleanliness in the holy place and desilting of Cauvery basin

The Cauvery neeravari nigama director T.D.Manmohan narrated his experience about the whole developmental work done in Thalacauvery and Bhagamandala and the complete involvement of the Govt. in this regard.. Mathanda Monnappa, the working president of the Reconsecration committee disclosed that Cauvery water in practically not used by the kodagu local people for drinking or irrigation purpose but, major portion of the river water is used by the Mandya,Mysore and Bangalore people and also people of Tamilnadu.

.Berera Shambhu Aiyanna,Bangalore Kodava Samaj president presided over the function. Madikeri M.L;.A Appachu Ranjan, M.L.C S.G.Medappa were present.
