CHEETAH SKIN FOUND:ACCD ARRESTEDMadikeri Feb.13: Bangalore CID police raided a house at Heggademane village in Somwarpet thaluk and have seized valuable cheetah skin. They have arrested the accused Sudin. Bangalore forest cell CID SI Raju and team had the clue of selling Rs. 3 lakh worth skin and horns. The team has seized cheetah skin, horns of cheetah and bisons and also the local gun used for hunting. PHOTO:ACD.WITH SKIN AND HORN WILD ELEPHANT CAPTUREDMadikeri Feb. 13: A pachyderm was captured by the forest department in Adinoodur village , Somwarpet thaluk.The forest team was split to 4 groups and conducted the drive deep inside the forest. One team found an elephant near Emmegundi and was immediately shot through tranquilsed gun.The elephant fell down within a range of 200 metres.7 forest dept. elephants managed to drag the wild elephant to the lorry and the captured elephant was carried to training camp at Adinadoor village.During the movement to lorry, the wild elephant protested and the tamed ABhimanyu pushed it to the lorry. PHOTO:CAPTURED ELEPHANT MOVEMENT TO GENERAL THIMMAIAH MEMORIALMadikeri Feb.13: The district administration gave movement to general Thimmaiah memorial by inaugurating the Bhavan office at “Sunni side”,the late general’s residence. The bhavan with a landscape view will include the Thimmaiah library, the late general’s used things,horse shed,gardenig,grass ground,borewell,army tank etc;While inaugurating the office the deputy speaker K.G.Bopaiah opined that the bhavan will be constructed to remember the great general and the elders suggestion will be taken before the construction to get the exact picture of the living style of late Thimmaiah M.C.nanaoiah recalled he General’s contribution to the nation and suggested that coffee museum should be opened in the memorial place. M.L.A Appachu Ranjan told that the memorial should be a centre for creation of awareness among the younger generation to promote them for joining the army. |
