C.M.WILL INAUGURATE STATE JOURNALISTS MEET

Madikeri Feb.19: Chief minister B.S.yediyurappa will inaugurate Karnataka state journalists meet organized by the Karnataka uion of working journalists association and kodagu Journalists association on 2st. February at 10-30 A.M.in Cauvery hall, Madikeri.

Excise, ITBT minister katta Subramanya Naidu, District incharge minister Krishna palemar vijaya Karnataka editor Vishweshwara bhat,Ministers shobha karandlaje,g.Janardhana reddy and others will be the guests. KUWJ president H.S.Sudheendra kumar will preside over the functions. On 22nd various seminars will be conducted pertaining journalism.H.D.Kumarswamy, state JDS president will deliver valedictory address on 22nd at P.M.R.V.Deshpande , kPCC president will distribute awatrds to the selcted journalistsa.

EMMEMAADU READY TO WELCOME DEVOTEES

A MUSLIM HOLY PLACE ATTRACTS HINDUS IN LARGE NUMBER

Madikeri Emmemadu darga a holy place near Madikeri attracts thousands of devotees from all religion during annual “Urus” festival.This year the festival falls on Feb.29th and continues till March 6th. .

The holy place is managed by Muslim leaders. Hindu devotees attend the urus in large number every year.

Emmemadu village is situated 35 K.Ms from Madikeri. It occupies first place among other holy places of Muslims in kodagu district.

History reveals the story of a cow belong to manavattira Kodava family feeded the milk to saint Soofi Shaheed while he was on death bed on a big stone near Emmemadu.After his death the darga was constructed.The Emmemadu Thajul Islam jamaath is maintaining the darga. Every year devotees belong to all communities throng here to offer prayer. They experience relief from many problems they face. The faith attracts increased number of people every year.

Jamaath is running residential school for orphans and also is running primary and high schools including English medium schools.
