STATE CONFERENCE OF JURNOS IN KODAGUMadikeri January 9 The state level conference of Karnataka Union of Working Journalists would be held here for two days during February. President of the district journalists association, C.N.Somesh told the scribes in a press conference that the conference would be held on February 21 and 23. Chief Minister Yediyurappa will inaugurate the conference on 21st at 10.30 a.m. Former Chief Minister Kumarswamy and KPCC president Deshpande will also take part in the valedictory function, next day. He said that state awards would be distributed on the occasion and eminent personalities would also be felicitated. The two day conference will include seminars and entertainment programmes. Chief convener of the conference B.G.Anantha Shayana spoke on the occasion and said that about two thousand journalists from all over the state and they would be provided free food and shelter. Free sight seeing for the delegates is also being organized, he said. Accomodation committee chairman H.T.Anil spoke on the occasion and said that the conference will also hope to boost tourism in Kodagu since journalists from all over will be staying here. Secretary Ravikumar proposed vote of thanks. Members Anu Cariappa, Sunil Kumar, Murali and Vanitha Chandramohan were also present. THIS HUSBAND SLEEPS ON ROAD!He was an elected representative of Gram Panchayath. His wife is a teacher. So what, they fail to strike an understanding. Unable to solve their fight, the husband slept sleeping on the road for three nights! The incident is reported from Shanivarsanthe near Somwarpet. A teacher at Handli government school, Manjula left her husband G.B.Harish three months ago and began to live with her aunt along with their two kids. Their children Prajwal, 7 and Sourabha, 4 are restricted to house with no schooling since three months. This has worried Harish who was once a gram Panchayath member at Nidtha GP. He requested his wife to return with kids. Since he received no response from her, Harish decided to live his house and stay on the road. Harish is big news now in town. He was a time pass bit for them. However he gave up dharna and went home today. It is yet to be found out whether his wife and children have returned . |
