POOR RESPONSE TO KODAGU BANDH CALL

Madikeri Jan. 15: Poor response to bundh call given by secular front in kodagu district today. The call was given to protest against the arrest of V.P.Shashidhar the Zilla panchayath member on atrocity case. The complaint was given by another Zilla panchayath ST Member Rajarao.

Except Somwarpet town, which is the thaluk headquarters and Napoklu town in Madikeri thaluk, all other places, including the district headquarter Madikeri, and the thaluk head quarter Virajpet Band call yielded no result.

The whole Virajpet thaluk is unaffected by the issue.

RECONSECRTION PROGRAMME FINALISED

Madikeri Jan. 15; Reconsecration programmes of Bhagamandala temple idols was finalized in a meeting held at old assembly hall, Madikeri. The deputy commissioner and the committee president M.K.Baladevakrishna presided over the function. Deputy speaker K.G.Bopaiah, M.L.A Appachu ranjan, M.L.C’s M..C.Nanaiah, S.G.Medappa and the kodagu Zilla panchayath president Deerghakeshi Shivanna ,working president Mahanda Monnappa were present in the meeting.

M.C.Nnanaih opined that the target of Rs. 35 lakh should be collected from the kodagu devotees only. The people should involve in the performances he opined. Deputy commisssio0ner told that Rs. 25 lakh could be sanctioned from the Thalacauvery-Bhagamandala temple committee as there is deposit of Rs. 50 lakh is lying unused. Shri Kshethra neeleshwar padmanabha tanthri will perform 15 days rituals. Various cultural programmes, mass feeding, religious speeches will be conducted. Chief minister. Ex.Chief ministers, Dr. Veerendra hedge, the important seers will be invited, the meeting resolved.
