KODAVA SAMAJ ANNOUNCES BLACK REPUBLIC DAY

M,adikeri Jan23: To protest against the negligence of Kodagu-Kerala link road’s worst condition, the Kutta Kadava Samaj has announced black day celebration on 26th, the republic day. The president Kallichanda Vishnu Cariappa and office bearers of Kutta Kodava Samaj have disclosed this in a press statement. All other roads in South Kodagu are in bad condition .. Ponnampet-Kanoor road and Lakkunda-Kembukolli raod are in worst condition. The Govt has. Sanctioned the required amount to start the work.But progress in nil.so for. Some of the road repair work carried in Choorikad,,Kembukolli, Manchalli roads are completely ruined due to low quality work.When the Kodava Samaj and other organization questioned the PWD AEE Sudhir kuar he had clarified that all these roads will be repaired shortly but the department has no sanction for Kutta-Tholpatti link road..

In another border area from Makutta to Kerala, the road work is not started irrespective of clear instructions from the state high court in response to a public petition. Balugodu,Perumabadi,Arji,kundimakki villagers have announced that they will organize protest including road blockage on Feb.11th. On behalf all these villagers B.M.Ganesh,Palachanda Vittal,V.M.Aboobar and others cautioned the Govt

The villagers disclosed their grievances with the press. For all the purchases and sales and other transactions the villagers have to depend on Virajpet town. which is for away from these villages.

The villagers have to get the market for their dry grass and Kerala is the best place for them to get the reasonable price. At present they are getting low rate,locally.. They were purchasing red stones from Kerala which is cheaper and that will e used for house and building construction. Now all these transactions have stopped due to transport problem The villagers warned that on feb.11 they will surround the PWD office and demand the commencement of work immediately.
