HIGH ALERT TO NAB BANK LOOTERS;

Police have sounded high alert in Kodagu to nab robbers who looted a bank at kasargod on Wednesday night.

Robbers broke into North Malbar Rural bank at Kasargod in Kerala region and decamped with jewelry worth rupes five crores and a cash of rupees seven lakhs. In charge Superintendent of police, J.D.Prakash told this correspondent that the cannanur SP has informed him that there is a possibility of the robbers hiding in Kodagu after committing the crime.

Prakash told that Kodagu police have spread a dragnet to trace the culprits and search is being made in all the hotels and Home Stays. Culprits have used a TATA Indica car and police are looking for it.

THREE FROM KODAGU DIE IN MISHAP

Three from Kodagu died on the spot and five others were injured as a Qualis vehicle they were traveling in bashed against a bus at Kerala.

A resident of Nalvathoklu near Virajpet, Khalid was traveling with his family to Kerala to attend a funeral. A bus rammed against their vehicle, ironically when they had just one kilometer to reach the destination.

Khalid died on the spot with his eight year old son Murshak and a relatives three year old daughter Afsath. Five others, including Khalids wife Maimuna, 23 received grievous injuries and shifted to Trissur West Port hospital.

Khalid was working for Nestle company at Nanjangud.

POLICE PROTECTION TO DCC BANK

Police security is provided to DCC bank here as the BJP is staging protest against it.

The BJP is all bent to snatch the power in the election scheduled for July 3rd and a stay is also brought blocking voting by the Grain banks. A police vehicle is posted before the Bank and police are taking preacaution.

Meanwhile, MLC M.C.Nanaiah has lambasted the Deputy Speaker K.G.Bopaiah and said that he is creating trouble through his followers in the bank. He took strong objection to the courts decision to block voting power to the Grain banks and said that the Grain banks are also a part of the Bank and they should be given voting power. He informed that they will fight it out legally.

Nanaiah alleged that Bopaiah spends twenty days in Kodagu and indulges in petty politics. He accused that Bopaiah has instigated picketing of DCC Bank and urged that he should resign to the post.
