YEDIYURAPPA TO MEET ADVANI AT KODAGUMadikeri June 24, 2009 Chief Minister Yediyurappa will meet the opposition leader in the loch sabha, L.K.Advani. BJP national general Secretary and MP, Ananthkumar disclosed this to press here at Orange County yesterday night. Ananth Kumar arrived here yesterday, spent the night in the company of L.K.Advani and his family at Orange County and returned to Bangalore today. Addressing press, Ananthkumar disclosed that chief minister Yediyurappa will meet Advani at orange County on this 27th. Stating that he will also accompany the chief minister, Ananthkumar disclosed that the CM will announce a bounty to Kodagu. Questioned as to what it could be, he asked the press to keep guessing and it is going to be a surprise. He said that Kodagu is climatically most beautiful and hence he suggested holiday for Advani here. He also likes the place very much and this is also one of the reasons that the chief minister is going to announce a gift from the Government to Kodagu, he disclosed. “Advaniji describes Kodagu as heaven”, Ananthkumar said. Security is beefed up around Orange County and strangers are not allowed inside. Everyone walking near the place is also being checked by the various security agencies. Photo: Ananthkumar received by BJP leaders at Virajpet helipad LAD FROM KODAGU DIES IN MISHAPMadikeri June 25, 2009 One person died and three others were injured as the Maruthi Omni they were traveling in was hit by a lorry at Hunsur. The incident was reported on the midnight of 23rd. A resident of Kutta, Thitira Aiyyappa was going to Mysore along with his friends Putta, Mohan and Manu. A lorry hit them at Hunsur and Aiyyappa died on the spot. The trio were injured, but out of danger. Hunsur police have registered a case. TIBETAN DIES IN ACCIDENTA Tibet lad succumbed to injuries, hit by an auto. According to Bylakuppe police, Namgel Tile was riding his bike Tuesday late night. He bashed against an autoriksha at the Bylakyppe Tintan camp and died on the spot. The body was found lying on the road in the morning. The autoriksha was seized and action was initiated against the driver Manju. CONGRESS HOLDS PROTESTDistrict youth congress held a protest against the murder of a congress member Belliappa week ago. Former MLC Arun Machaiah led a protest march at Virajpet yesterday and alleged that BJP is involved in the murder of Belliappa, who was killed brutally by a gang of six at Virajpet. Arun Machaiah questioned as to why the deputy Speaker K.G.Bopaiah is keeping mum about the incident. He ridiculed him by saying that Boapaiah has time to visit the spot when an elephant was electrocuted, but has no time and courtesy to visit the family of the deceased Belliappa. He said that though six people are involved in the act of murder, only three were arrested. Police are succumbing to political pressure, he accused. He opined that timber smugglers with BJP link are involved in the murder. A memorandum to arrest the remaining culprits was submitted to the Tahasikldar. Sub inspector Vishnuvardan, who arrived at the spot said that they are not receiving any political pressure and the culprits who are at large, would be arrested shortly. He informed that two police teams are looking for them. District youth Congress president Dharmaja Uthappa, Town president Dhruvakumar and others were present. TP MEMBERS TO PICKET CESCOMThe taluk panchayath members yesterday decided to picket CESCOM office on July 10th to protest against their step motherly attitude and apathy. The meeting chaired by its president Shubashini discussed in detail the lethargic attitude by the CESCOM in providing power to houses in the rural area, irrigation projects and other schemes. Sub committee chairman Nagesh Kundalpadi alleged that the drinking water schemes are awaiting connection since months and some of the houses are waiting since a year or more to get power connection. They alleged that the officials are dodging their requests with silly reasons and picketing is inevitable. A member Raghu Anand said that electrical poles were erected at Arekad area couple of years ago and the wires are yet to be drawn and connection has become a dream for the residents. Assistant Executive Engineer Suresh, who was present in the meeting, explained that the department has short supply of materials and which is causing the delay. The members went furious and shouted that the higher ups in the department are ignoring the wants of the district. They said that they will picket the office if the department fails to provide power to the required schemes and projects before July ten. |
