DCC BANK TUSSLE SLIPS TOWARDS POLICE HAND

Madikeri June 30, 2009

President of Kumbarara Gudikaigarike, K.T.Sanna Shetty has lodged a complaint against the president of DCC Bank, Madikeri and two others of bribing, stealing bank rubber stamps and taking to illegal path to win the election.

Addressing a press conference at Gonicoppal yesterday, Sannashetty alleged that he is representing Kumbara community and is an eligible voter in DCC Bank. Whereas, the DCC bank president Matanda Ramesh, candidate Karnanda Somaiah and Tatu Monnappa have forcibly taken signature from him, empowering Tatu Monnappa to vote in the election. He called this as an illegal action and also stated that rubberstamps were missing from his office and he suspects the trio has stolen them to prepare false records to empower Tatu Monnappa to vote. A complaint was lodged with Gonicoppal police.

Taluk Panchayath member Addanda Cariappa, who was present in the press conference alleged that the the trio were involved in illegal means and criminal case was booked under section 379, 420, R/w 34 of IPC and criminal case under 67/2009. He opined that Tatu Monnappa does not belong to Kuruba community and his name was illegally brought in the voters list by removing Sanna Shettys name.

Cariappa informed that they will hold a protest in front of DCC Bank on third July, on the day of the election, if they fail to rectify the fault and include Sanna Shettys name in the voters list.

BJP and JDs are taking the DCC bank election as a question of prestige. While BJP is trying to snatch the power away from JDs, JDs is trying hard to retain it. Today, congress has said that it will support JDs in the election and contest unitedly.
