BJP URGES TO BANISH ENVIRONMENTALISTS;

Going hammer and tong against the environamentalists, The BJP leaders and people’s representatives stressed the government to banish fake environmentalists from Kodagu.

Addressing a press conference here today, state BJP executive committee member Shanteyanda Ravi Kushalappa and others alleged that retired Air marshal K.C.Cariappa, Thammu Poovaiah, retired Col.C.P.Muthanna, retired RFO Chinnappa K.M. are obstructing development of roads in the district in the name of environment and said that they should be banished for kodagu to thrive.

They took strong objection to K.C.Cariappa approaching Supreme Court against the local MLAs, DC and others for clearing the road at Kadamakal which had already existed. They informed press that almost all the roads, including high ways run through reserve forests only in Kodagu and the objection being raised by the above group has a hidden agenda. He alleged that they are trying to mislead court an people with false allegations. The people are suffering with no proper approaches and they are forced to tread dozens of kilometers more to reach a destination due to the hindrance by these fake environmentalists.

District BJP organizing secretary Talur Kishore Kumar spoke on the occasion and alleged that Air Marshal (RTD) K.C.Cariappa is misusing the name of his father Field marshall K.M.Cariappa. He accused that the 49.5 acres of land granted to his father by the government is being misused and Cariappa is selling timber and land from the grant site. He warned that the party will stage a protest against him in front of his house.

He also alleged that the president of the Wild Life Society, Col.Muthanna, and raising objection to felling of trees has sold trees from his estate. What right does such people have to ask others not to fell trees, he questioned.

BJP taluk spokesperson Manu Muthappa alleged that large sums of western money are being flown to the organizations run by above people and it has to be investigated.

Zilla Panchayath members B.C.Neelamma, Lokeshwari Gopal, Kollira Dharmaja and others were present.
