CM TO INAUGURATE GOWDA CENTENARY

The Gowda Vidya Sangha here is all set to celebrate centenary and the chief minister Yediyurappa is going to inaugurate it.

Balagangadara Nath from Adichunchanagiri Mutt will deliver a talk. BJP state president Sadananda Gowda, ministers Shobha Karantlaje, B.N.achegowda, MLC M.C.Nanaiah, S.G.Medappa, MLA Appachu ranjan, Dputy speaker K.G.Bopaiah, ZP chairperson deergakeshi shivanna and others will participate in the two day programme planned here at the Mann’s compound grounds.

Former Chief Minister S.M.Krishna is going to inaugurate the valedictory function on 8th.

TEACHERS TAKE TO STRIKE;

Teachers at Primary Model Schools at Somwarpet taluk are protesting against the delay in payment of salary.

The protest began on 3rd and is continuing before the Block Education Office. The protesting teachers alleged that they are not being paid since two months and the officials are not bothered to talk to them in spite of their protest.

Former MLA B.A.Jeevijaya met the teachers yesterday and received a memorandum. He spoke to the Zilla Panchayath Chief Executive officer Ramachandrappa and urged him to release the payment immediately. Ramachandrappa assured to do so.

The protesting teachers cautioned that they will close the schools if the officials fail to meet their demands in another two days time.

Teachers’ association president Yogish, secretary Manjunath took the lead.
