JAK HOLDS FUNCTION

The local unit of Journalists Association of Karnataka celebrated the “memories of 125 years of journalism in Kodagu” at Madikeri yesterday.

Inaugurating the function deputy speaker K.G.Bopaiah said that the fourth estate, Press should function with responsibility to retain the biggest democracy the country is enjoying.

MLC M.C.Nanaiah called upon the press to keep away from politics and caste based politics. Journalist Ravindra Reshme from Bangalore regretted that the media haste caste bias. He also opined that the differentiating newspapers as regional, state or district is improper. Former MLA A.K.Subbaiah spoke on the occasion and said that the newspapers are not effectively questioning the corruption and malpractices in the society.
