PRE MONSOON SHOWER CONTINUES

Madikeri March 12:

Pre monsoon showers in Kodagu continued for the second day yesterday and spread to North Kodagu. Roads were blocked in couple of places and trees fell across the road. Black clouds are showering over the district even today.

A huge tree fell across the road at Bajegundi at Somwarpet and road was blocked for a long time. A compound wall of a house belonging to one Balakrishna was damaged. Electricity connection was cut off at night as the lines were disrupted in few places of Somwarpet.

Shanivarsanthe received half an inch rainfall and showers were observed at Kushalnagar and other places. Parts of Madikeri, Sunticoppa, Kushalnagar and Anekad areas have also received rainfall yesterday.

1.72 inches of rainfall was registered at Madikeri in 24 hours. Bhagamandala received 1.59 inches, napoklu received 1.04 inches of rainfall.

Plantation community is happy in many parts as the rainfall has saved their cost of irrigation.

CREDIBILITY LOST IN POST OFFICE

Madikeri March 13: presumption of confidence in post office services is also becoming doubtful these days. In a small village like Valnoor near here a postman has misused Rs. 56 thousand, the amount being collected from the pubic towards various S.B.A/c and RD accounts. Postman chaluvaiah was entering the collection amount in the customers’ accounts, but practically he was not remitting the sum in the post office.

The misuse was exposed when the senior officer Somaiah from Somwarpet visited Valnur post office and verified more than 150 RD accoundts of the customers.The major amount is remitted by the poor villagers who have full faith in post office accounting system

JEEVIJAYA TO DECIDE AFTER 18TH

Madikeri March 13: Former minister B.A.Jeevijaya will decide about his political future only after 18th .He told that he will discuss with his well wishers and his affectionate on 18th .he had invited them for a meeting on that day. at Okkaligara Kalyan mantap Somwarpet.

He expressed his dissatisfaction over the selfish attitude of some of the congress leaders more than the party interest. He recalled that some of the congress leaders in kodagu have worked against him during last assembly lections to defeat him. He disclosed that he will officially join JDS before 28th in a convention to be held at Mysore.He disclosed that he had worked in the previous Janatha parivar, ,The state JDS leaders like kumaraswamy and others have suggested him to come out of congress and to join the JDS.He is also hopeful of getting Loksabha seat from kodagu Mysore Loksabha constituency.
