MAMMOTH HINDU RALLY TAKES OFF

A mammoth Hindu rally took off today at Madikeri. Tens and thousands of people gathered in the tiny town and took part in a grand procession and function.

Various seers and orators addressed the gathering and called upon the Hindus to be on guard as other forces in the country are trying to consider them as second citizens. Society was asked to be aware of the dangers of terrorism, cow slaughter and conversion.

Kolya Mutt Ramananda swamiji spoke on the occasion and asserted that the Hindu brethren should not rest till they hoist the orange flag at the Red fort in new Delhi.He called upon the Hindus to produce Shivajis and Vivekanandas in every house to save the country from the hands of terrorists and other evil forces. He said that Hindu should not rest till the goal of Hindu Nation is reached. He called upon women to retaliate in case of disturbance from the evil lot and said that Hindu Raksha Vedike wi;ll protect them at any time. He ca;lled upon the society to consider every one as their brethren and all as children of one God and one mother.

State Vishwa Hindu Parishath organizing secretary Keshava hedge addressed the gathering and said that preserving Hindu culture is a must. Mentioning about the terrorist activities in the name of Jihad, he said that time to watch such evil practice with folded hands is over and Hindu brethren should rise to put a full stop to such activities. He informed that Hindu Jagruthi Samithi is apolitical and it intends to bring awareness about the greatness of Hinduism in every village. He asserted that nation needs a brave leader to push Jihadis out and Hindu brethren should look for such a leader who can protect the world and hold high the esteems of Hinduism.

Odiyur Gurudevananda Swamiji, manila Mutt Gurudevananda Swamy, Gurupura Mutt rajashekjarananda Swamy, Arameri Shantha mallikarjuna Swamy, Kallu Mutt Mahanta Swamy spoke on the occasion.

The procession consisting of Dollu Kunitha, women carrying Kalasha, Chande from kerala, Dudipaat, nasik Band, Gombe Kunitha followed by traditionally clad Hindus went through the main streets from manns compound and assembled at Gandhi maidan for the rally.

Heavy police Bandobasth was organized. Superintendent of police Ramesh harihar told that more than six hundred police are on duty and dozens of police officers were posted to check vehicles and to maintain law and order. Police force from neighbouring districts along with KSRP was also brought to maintain peace.

POACHING UNEARTHED; JEEP AND DEER MEAT SEIZED; ONE ARRESTED;

Somwarpet forest sleuths yesterday arrested a person and seized his jeep along with the meat of three deers.

Acting on a tip off, forest staff led by Range Forest Officer Dayanand raided a spot and found that three deers were killed by one Kartik and his friends. While the body of two deer was cut into pieces, another was about to be cut.

Kartik, Basavaraju, thimmaiah, Lingappa, basavaraju, Ramesh, Dinesh and Vivek were allegedly indulging in poachin regularly. They were using hunter dogs and weapons to kill animals. Villagers tipped off the department yesterday as they entered the forest for poaching.

While kartik was caught, the others are absconding. Case under wild life act is registered.
