ELECTION COMMISSION SEIZES CAR, CASH AND REVOLVER;

Sectoral Magistrates today rounded up four vehicles at Madikeri and seized huge cash and revolver.

Assistant electon commissioner Akram pasha told here that rupees 30.25 lakhs cash and a revolver were seized from four vehicles by the sectoral magistrates Ravikumar, Sadanand and Pramodh.

The election officers were conducting random checking of vehicles at the outskirt junction of Madikeri in the evening. A car with registration number KA 03 B 2403, owned by kavya madappa had cash of rupees nine lakhs. An inmate Srinivas, said to be her accountant was holding the cash. The cash was seized and handed over to police for enquiry along with the vehicle.

Rupees ten lakh was seized from another car, KA 020 N 4232, coming from Udupi and heading towards Mysore was seized with a cash of rupees ten lakh. The car was owned by Ashok Ballal. From Udipi.

A revolver was seized from one Vinodh, driving a car KA 19 z 5059. He was traveling from Mysore to Mangalore.

In the fourth incident Sudheesh from Madikeri was found with a cash of rupees 11.25 lakhs in his car KA 12 1797.

Town police have registered cases and are conducting enquiry.
