WLD ELEPHANT ATTACKED AUTO

Madikeri March 29; A wild elephant attacked and damaged an autoriksha in thondur village near reserve forest yesterday morning and damaged it. Fortunately the auto driver, one woman labourer, a child going for play home, and three 2nd standard students were came out with injuries without loss of life. When the elephant suddenly attacked the moving auto, it was toppled down; The passengers were is now ready flown inside the auto and were injured. Watching the incident, the nearby residents in a quick warning sense have fired the crackery. Hearing the sound the elephant in fear ran away from the spot and the children and lady inside the auto were saved. Then, the elephant attacked a house of local resident Sura causing damage. Injured persons are admitted to Madikeri hospital.

The solar fence in the reserve forest is not working properly. The forest department has dug out the trenches to obstruct elephants movement inside the civilian territory. The intelligent animals managed to cross all these barriers.


BHAGAMNDALA SEERS VISITING

Madikeri March 29: The historical river Cauvery “Sangama” pilgrim centre Bhagamandala is now ready to welcome the devotees for 15 days Vedic, cultural and religious programmes in the midst of natural greenery landscape view.

After rejuvenation of the temple the Reconsecration will take place from April 2nd to 14th. The religious programme would be inaugurated by Shri Jayendrapuri swamiji of Kailasashram and Shri Rajajeshwari temple, Bangalore on April 6th at 11 A.M. Dr. Veerendra Hegde and Shri pejavara Shri Vishwesha thirtha swamij are blessing on April 11th .Shri Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swamij of Shri ramachandrapura Mutt is arriving on April 12th. Pratishtapana will be conducted by Shri padmanbha Neeleshwar Thanthri on April 9th and brahmakalashothsava will be done from 10th to12th.

The election commissioner Manivannan and the deputy commissioner Baladevakrishna called a meeting of the committee and discussed about the programmes. Commission has strictly instructed the committee to avoid politicians involvement in the programmes, which was agreed by the Reconsecration committee office bearers M.C.Monnappa, Suresh Chengappa, s.s. Sampathkumar,H.T.Anil, K.J.Bharath, T.S.Narayanachar and others.
