PILLAI SUPPORTS HOCKEY PLAYERS GRIEVANCEMadikeri February 7, 2010 National hockey champ and former captain of the Indian hockey team, Dhanraj Pillai told here that the demand of the Indian hockey players is genuine and valid. Pillai spoke to scribes yesterday evening here as he visited Sports Authority of India and addressed the inmates. He agreed to the point that the players have lost their moral strength as the honorarium issue had to reach a fighting situation. He recalled with gratitude the assistance of Maharashtra government and Sahara India. Dhanraj Pillai stated that professionalism in hockey is very essential to hit success. He said that Indian team should be committed to it as the world will watch us. He hoped that the Indian team will prove its worth in the next challenge. He said that the world hockey championship scheduled at Delhi will be a testing ground for the team. The first opposite team to India will be Pakistan, he informed. Pillai called upon the youngsters here to etch a niche in the international sports arena like Govinda, ganesh, Ashwini Nachappa and others. Ashwini Nachappa was also present.
