HOUSE WIFE COMMITTS SUICIDE; THREE HELD

A house wife committed suicide, unable to withstand the torture by her husband and in laws at Shanivarsanthe.

Police arrested a bus conductor Lokesh, his father Kushalappa and mother Chnadramma yesterday on charges of dowry harassment. The accused were reportedly forcing Pushpalatha, 24 to get more money from her parents and were giving mental and physical torture to her. Pushpalatha hung herself from the roof on the night of Tuesday.

On receiving complaint from her brother, police have arrested the trio and sent them to judicial custody.

CONGRESS TO REBUILD FORT IN KODAGU

The Member of the Parliament, H.Vishwanath told that the lost fort of congress in Kodagu would be rebuilt soon.

Addressing congress workers meet at Shanthalli yesterday, Vishwanath said that the Congress which was once powerful had lost its base in Kodagu and will slowly strengthen its hold. He said that the useful schemes and projects by central government and the achievements by the Congress is drawing the attention of the people.

He accused BJP of indulging in creating unrest and said that only Congress has contributed useful projects to the nation like Indira Awaz, Rozgar, Rajivgandhi Rural Electrification schemes etc.

MLC T.John spoke on the occasion and opined that Congress will take the reigns of all the states in the country in the next few years. Commenting on the protest by BJP against terrorism, he opined that what is BJP and its policemen are doing? It is like protesting against their own government!

Taluk panchayath president Lokesh spoke and said that there are many more villages around Shanthalli which have not seen electricity even after so many years of independence. KPCC member T.P.Ramesh and others spoke on the occasion.
