MISCREANTS STONE BUSSES;

Four KSRTC busses, including a Volvo were stoned by miscreants yesterday night near Sunticoppa.

According to police, busses heading towards Bangalore from Madikeri were stoned near Hardoor area. Miscreants threw heavy stones and glasses of all the four busses were damaged and two passengers were injured. Body of a bus was also damaged.

The bus drivers and conductors rushed to Sunticoppa police station and lodged complaints. The police team rushed to the spot and searched for miscreants who escaped under the cover of darkness. The busses left Madikeri after 10.30 pm in intervals and were crossing Hardoor area after 11.30. – 12 mid night.

A tourist Sukumaran said that he had stayed at Madikeri for two nights and was returning to Bangalore along with his family. They were shocked by the incident and luckily escaped unhurt. He informed that a lady in the first bus has received head injury. They were stranded for more than two hours, according to him.

Police said that the injured passengers however did not lodge a complaint. They were administered first aid at Sunticoppa government hospital. Miscreants have stoned the busses from inside coffee estate. Investigation is on.

HOUSE WIFE DIES UNDER SUSPECION;

On the close heels after a wife killed her husband at Madikeri recently, a husband is suspected to have killed his wife at Tolur Shettalli near Somwarpet.

Decomposed body of a young wife was recovered from a lake yesterday and was identified as belonging to Uma, 25.

According to police, Uma married K.B.Ganesh, a resident of Tolur Shettalli 9 months ago. She began to question him about an affair he has with another girl and differences brewed between the couple.

Ganesh was reportedly harassing her and was pressing her to get more dowry. Her parents have lodged a complaint with the Somwarpet police stating that ganesh must have killed her. Adding to the suspicion, Ganesh did not lodge complaint with the police nor did he mention to the villagers that his wife was missing since three days. Police suspect that the girl has died at least three days earlier.

The body was frisked out from the lake as the parents suspected her death. Investigation is on.

MADIKERI TO GET MORE PARKS

MLA Appachu Ranjan has hinted that Madikeri will get more parks at a cost of rupees two crores.

Addressing a function here yesterday he said that the town is being developed at a total cost of rupees 23 crores. He addressed the function of the

Resident’s organization of dairy farm residents.

City Municipal Council president P.D.Ponnappa opined that the development of the areas would be easier if all the extensions have there own organizations. He called upon the residents to make their extension free from plastic.

CMC commissioner Srikant rao, member T.S.Prakash spoke on the occasion. Jeevan Chinnappa presided over.
