KODAGU DELEGATION MET C.M.Madikeri Feb. 21:Kodagu zilla panchayath delegation yesterday met chief minister B.S.Yediyurappa at Bangalore at Vidhana Soudha and discussed various problems of Kodagu.Chief minister has assured to solve all problems stage by stage. The problems presented were the elephant menace in villages and requested to announce a permanent project to re provide them the necessary amenities in forest area like construction of dinking water tank and to grow the necessary forest products to feed them to avoid attacking in the farming fields. Kodagu although is the origin of river cauvery is facing severe drinking water problem during summer. A permanent solution is sought. Kodagu roads have become worst for traffic and all these need additional packages to implement the schemes. During monsoon the heavy rain cause damage to farming field. A project to construct retaining walls, and to repair the streams and to repair the damaged buildings. District Govt civil hospital is facing shortage of doctors,many vacancies are unfilled in various departments,. All vacancies should be filled for smooth working system.Kodagu estate owners are deprived of right over tree in their own lands. The forest act prevail in Kodagu should be amended.Kodagu has grievous problem of power cut which affects the students future for proper studying. Some norms should b e followed avoiding unlimited power cut in the district. Speaker K.G.Bopaiah, M.L.A Appachu ranjan,Kodagu Z.P.president V.M.Vijaya and other Z.P.members were present.
