PRIVATE BUS OWNERS PROTESTMadikeri Jan.8:kodagu district private bus owners sat dharna in front of RTO office, Madikeri from morning to evening. They protested against the movement of unlicensed KSRTC line buses in Kodagu. About 80 buses are moving without proper license and creating problem to private buses affecting the daily collections. They demanded to solve the problem and cancel the movement of unlicensed buses within 15 days. Otherwise, they have warned the Govt. that the private buses will be stopped for unlimited time until the proper decision is announced. Bus owners association president Ramesh Joyappa and office bearers A.G.Bopanna, B.T.Poonacha,kechetira Manju,Annappa kini and others participated in the protest. PHOTO:BUS OWNERS SAT DHARNA DIES IN TRACTOR MISHAPMadikeri January 7, 2010 A worker died in an accident as he catapulted from a moving tractor. The incident occurred near Siddapur yesterday. An estate worked Raju, 55 was deeply injured as the tractor trailer having Ginger toppled on the road, along with him. He was taken to hospital all in vain and breathed his last. Police arrested the driver Girish. 2010 TURNS BAD FOR THIS SHEEP;Owner of a sheep farm at Siddapur was worried till now as sheep were missing one by one under mysterious circumstance. But the New Year came kicking to them as the mystery seems solved. Owners Bojappa and Wajid lodged a complaint with the police about missing sheep on first of 2010. Police worked on a group which celebrated New Year in the field near the Sheep farm. The group did not spell out the fact till one of their brothers came and said that they partied on a sheep! The group stated that they were partying on the night of 31st and were cooking chicken. As they were partying, there arrived a Sheep and they cooked it, not knowing that it came from which place! The group of boys paid a fine of rupees five thousand to the owners and said that they are unaware of what was happening to the other sheep’s which were missing! ZP RULE COMES UNDER ATTACKMember of the Zilla Panchayath, V.P.Shashidar has accused the president Vijaya as lazy and irresponsible. Addressing a press conference here yesterday he accused Vijaya of not conducting regular meetings. The meeting is not called even after sixty days which is mandatory, he commented. He also said that the Zilla Panchayath is yet to prepare action plan for drinking water. The officials and the BJP MLAs are also keeping mum and acting like puppets, he said. Shashidar said that the ruling party members of the ZP are asked to be present before court as a case was booked against them about the pandemonium created in the last meeting. He took up the Nagpur orange issue and recalled that a committee was formed to investigate the controvercial deal. Nothing has transpired so far, he commented. Another member Kalaiah commented by stating that Kodagu has become a haven of lazy officials who are not bothered about the issues. He urged the resignation of Sub committee chairman manu Muthappa and said that the officials are dancing to his tune. Former president Deergakeshi Shivanna, member Banumathi were present. |
