KPCC DELEGATES MET P.M

KPCC delegation recently met prime minister Manmohansingh and commerce minister Anand Sharma and requested to release the coffee package soon.

KPCC president R.V.Deshpande led the delegation. Prime minister assured them that the matter will be discussed with the 14 cabinet member finance committee and final decision will b e announced. The delegation also met the committee members Gulam Nabi Azad, Susheelkumar Shinde and convinced the need for the package and explained the problems faced by the coffee growers.

The delegation included parliament member H.Vishwanath, ex. Member B.L.Shankar,Puttegowda,ex.Ministers Motamma,Jayaprakash hedge,Coffee board member Thara Aiyamma,B.S.Raghu and B.S.Chandrappa.

Meanwhile, growers’ delegation from kodagu, Chickmagalur and Hassan recently met the coffee board chairman and the members during the board meeting and requested to influence the centre to release the coffee package at the earliest. They explained the growers’ problem especially affected by the untimely rain during last month. They demanded to instruct the banks to slow down the recovery process till the coffee package is announced by the centre Kodagu team was led by katti Mandiah the Kodagu coffee growers federation chairman.
