POLIO 90.29% SUCCESS IN KODAGU

The district witnessed a successful Polio immunization with 90.29% success.

Speaker K.G.Bopaiah administered the first drop here and said that the country should join hands with government and private organizations which are fighting to eradicate polio from the world. Though polio is under control in the country, Boapaih said that they should see to it that the disease is eradicated totally.

Deputy Commissioner Ashwathnarayana Gowda, DHO Shivram Naik, additiona DC Chandregowda were present.

About 47,804 children were immunized against the set target of 52,945.

Meanwhile, Rotary International director Dr.M.K.Panduranga Shetty administered the drop to children at Raotary District Conference held at FMKMC ground. District governor ravi Appaji said that about 120 million dollars was given to Indian government for the eradication of Polio from the Rotary International.
