HOMESTAY OWNER MURDEREDMadikeri Jan.12:A Mysorean who was running a homestay on rental basis at mekeri village near here was murdered by unidentified persons yesterday night. Shiradi sai stay home was started by Shankar, a resident of Giribovi lay out Mysore.He had taken the building of M.C.Poonacha of Mekeri for rental basis and was running a home stay. It was said that yesterday 4 unidentified persons came at 9.30 P.M.and have stabbed him on the stomach who was succumbed to injuries. Shankar had arrived form Kushalnagar and was standing near the gate of the home stay and the incident happened at the same spot. Shankar had acted in a small role in a film and a serial and was attending a choreography centre at Mysore where it was said that he had affair with a girl.He was unmarried and was 27. According to his close associates and the local people Shankar was behaving very roughly with other persons in any transactions and had quarrel with many persons. He was mingling in a friendly manner with home stay cook Mahadevaswamy having party with him often and when the incident happened Mahadevaswamy was the only witness and he had been taken by the police for enquiry although the complaint was given by him only.He told the police that yesterday morning 4 personas came and told that they are coming from Mandya and they want to meet Shankar for celebrating birthday party. When the cook told that Shankar had gone to Kushalnagar the persons who came their went away from the spot.Mahesh of Mysore who is the brother of the deceased had given some clue to the Police. According to Police S.P.Manjunath Annigeri the matter has to be investigated in Mysore and Bangalore where the deceased had business and other friendship link and at present no clear picture is available-he told. LADY DIES IN MISHAPMadikeri January 12, 2010 A lady died in a road accident yesterday at Chamrajnagar. A resident of Kodagu, Fatima, 58 died on the spot as the maruthi van she was in bashed against a bullock cart. The van was being driven by her son in law, timber merchant Kunjimani from Nellihudikeri. Kunjimani suffered fracture injury while two other inmates are also injured. The three are being treated at Chamrajnagar hospital. MERCHANTS TAKE TO HEELS; CHEAT PEOPLEA business establishment which took birth recently at Virajpet was closed after cheating people to the tune of rupees twenty five lakhs. According to the complaints lodged at Virajpet police station, five persons from Tamilnadu opened a shop by name “Kamali Enterprises” and distributed pamphlets by announcing discounts on various items. Customers were offered ten percent discount against straight purchase and fifty percent if they can wait for ten days for the supply of items after payment. They distributed items thus to gain the confidence of people. Yesterday the customers had the shock of their life to notice that the shop was closed and nobody was seen around. The telephones were not being picked. They realized that the group of cheats have made to their feet after collecting huge some to the tune of rupees twenty five lakhs. Police have registered a case and are investigating. |
