FOREIGN DELEGATES IN KODAGU

Madikeri Jan.30: 27 delegates from various countries visited Kodagu today. They have arrived here to study the local plantation crops and to get technical know how and also usage of manures, way of cultivation.

Today they went to the field and observed the growth of various plants and mode of cultivation .The delegates were happy to watch the best cultivation of anthodium in the field of Kumar of Hakathur village and also the field of Dulip Nanjappa. They said that they are satisfied to get the required guidance for the eco friendly cultivation of crops like anthodium and coffee.

While talking to reporters the delegates expressed their happiness to experience cool and environmental atmosphere in Kodagu. They said that they enjoy the greenery and forestry everywhere here.

Some of the delegates told that in their countries also they grow coffee and they want to learn more about the systematic cultivation of coffee in Kodagu district. The programme director Dr.. Bidari told that delegates from various countries are invited for 20 days tour and study programme in India under ITEC fellowship scheme headed by ministry of external. The Kodagu horticultural asst. director Mahesh and the horticultural officer Pramod accompanied the team

BROTHER KILLED SISTER

Madikeri Jan.30 An incident of brother killing his own sister is reported from Hanchinkadu village near here.

Shivaraj attacked his sister Jyothi using a firewood, hit her on the head and on the way to Siddapur hospital she collapsed.

The family members were originally from Mandya and they came to Hanchinadu searching the job and joined Elija estate belonging to Rodrigus. Shivaraj was watching his sister in suspicion after her husband died a few months back. He was mistook .her that she might have killed her husband. Keeping created vengeance in his mind he attacked her yesterday. She left her two daughters. Police have arrested accused Shivaraj.
