HOMESTAYS-RENTED HOUSES WILL BE TREATED UNDER COMMERCIAL HEADMadikeri Jan.31: Home stays and rented house existed in Madikeri town will be treated under commercial head. This has been decided by Madikeri City municipal council (CMC). The president P.D.Ponnappa has announced the decision of CMC. The water tax will be imposed under commercial rate for these accommodations. Home stays are using more quantity of CMC supplied water to treat the tourist guests. Considering the more usage than the domestic usage quantity, the decision was made. Further, for the newly constructing buildings and residences no new drinking water connection will be provided to avoid balancing of water supply to the 32 thousand city population. The main water supply source at Kootuhole near here will get dried during summer and to avoid complete dryness water management is required and so this decision was made. CMC has also decided to take stringent action against the concerned officials who certify payment for low quality work by the contractors in town. Madikeri CMC activity will now go online and every citizen can avail any information at any time through website, said Shrikanthrao, CMC commissioner here. The important decisions by CMC, ongoing works in the town, details about the contractors are fed through the website. Shortly, CMC will become paperless computerized office he added. CMC has decided to protect all its’ properties in the town by fencing all those areas. Further Rs. 40 lakh will be utilized to improve Nehru park, Nehru Mantap and other parks in the town area announced Shrikanthrao commissioner. |
